Frequently Asked Questions about Our Worship Services
When do you gather for worship?
There are two worship opportunities each Sunday. Our morning worship service is at 9:30 AM from June
through August. Our morning worship service is at 10:30 AM and 6:30 PM
Labor Day through Memorial Day.
Our evening
worship service is at 6:30 PM.
What will happen the minute I walk in the church door?
You will enter a lobby. Directly in front of you, beyond the
lobby, is the church worship area. Probably some people will be
milling around in the lobby, talking. Some children may be active
in the area. Someone will introduce himself/herself to you and
shake your hand. As you walk forward, an usher will ask you where
you'd like to sit and offer you a bulletin (a program describing
the worship service). You may enter the church without an usher
accompanying you if you'd like.
Where
should I sit in church?
Ushers can assist you in seating, but you may sit wherever you
please.
How will I know what's going on?
We provide a worship bulletin (a program) that outlines the
worship service. The pastor will
give instructions for everyone during the service. No one is
expected to know "the next thing to do" nor to know the songs "by
heart." It is all explained in the worship bulletin.
You will be able to
follow the service with ease.
See this week's worship bulletin.
If I come to a worship service, will I be asked to stand and
identify myself?
No! We welcome our guests informally, but do not wish to embarrass
them.
Do I have to give a contribution?
No. The offering is an opportunity for our regular worshipers to
share in the work of this church.
What about my children?
Loving care for children up to 2 years of age is available during
each worship service and during the Sunday School hour in the nursery, which is located
in education wing of the church. Older children may sit
with their parents. If you prefer, you may keep younger children
with you during the service, too.
Children ages 2 through kindergarten worship God in their own
special way and learn about God through the many stories in the
Bible. The children are excused during the morning worship
service.
How
should I dress?
We dress according to our own individual styles and tastes. Many
women wear dresses and a few men wear a tie. We are generally a
casual group, though, and many men wear jeans while many women
wear slacks. Teens usually dress more informally. It is unimportant to us
how you dress. We are not a "stuffy" group.
What are the worship styles at
Faith Community Fellowship?
Our
worship services feature meaningful and celebrative worship with a
blend of contemporary and traditional music and worship styles
which the whole family can enjoy.
Do you offer
Sunday School?
Yes! Education
classes for all ages meet at 9:30 from
Labor Day
through Memorial Day.
